‘We have identified a need to return to former values and ways of which products were developed in the past, when product quality was the main aim. It is our ambition to develop products that will genuinely bring the market and our customers something that is new, based on a manifested need or wish.’
– Markus Nydén. Founder of Markus Form. Malmoe, 2013.
Markus Form was founded in 2013 by Markus Nydén, an architect and designer. The company is the fruit of many years worth of thoughts on a new furniture collection, driven by previous experience within the world of architecture and field of furniture retail.
We have identified a need to return to former values and ways of which products were developed in the past, when product quality was the main aim. In the process, we hope to inspire younger generations to discover and grow an interest for training and work within handicraft and manufacturing. The transfer of knowledge between generations, is important in order to maintain and make use of the knowledge and raw materials that we have, here in Sweden.
In line with the changes in our ways of living and working, we need furniture that meet these new needs. Our products all aim to cater to real, unfulfilled needs, expressed by the customers.
In our opinion, everybody should be able to afford high quality and functionality. We want to offer products adhering to this ideal to a greater group of customers, without compromising on product quality.
It is our ambition to develop products that genuinely bring the market and our customers something new, based on a manifested need or wish. An intelligent and well-formulated answer to a yet unanswered question.
The development of products should be a collaboration between us, the producer, and our customers, contributing to uphold a responsible pattern of consumption, for our shared future.
The biggest threat to the environment is not to use the wrong material or production process, it is ignoring the customer's wishes and needs.
Markus Form produces functional furniture for modern day needs.
